The palette for this space was developed alongside new and existing brand standard interior elements. Each location of this brand is unique yet familiar. This was fun. The blue walls gave way to a new dark textured commercial paper with color that ranged from coffee beans to bronze. The owner partnered with a local gallery to source original pieces of art to be placed throughout the entry, bar and dining areas. Art lights were introduced in a two toned- bronze and antique brass finish. Setting them apart from existing sapele wood panels.
Removing the dark existing commercial carpet and replacing it with natural wood flooring throughout elevated the experience. Dining area banquettes were changed from a commercial print to a rich vegan leather. The bar area booths were upholstered in natural black leather, which was also used on the custom entry bench. Bench made by a local craftsman; the entry bench and console set the tone once inside. Made from the same type of wood as the perimeter panels, these items were made to stand up to the heavy commercial traffic the space receives. The ambassador stand, also custom made, provides areas for welcoming guests as well as storage of practical items. The single pedestal leg is fitted with an antique World War II shell casing. Which serves as both a design element and a layer of protection from water and cleaning agents used daily. The inviting tone of the entrance is further defined by a new alabaster and brass lamp.
The bar library was shop built then installed to fit seamlessly into conditions onsite. New lower storage and upper display offer an engaging space for guests to wait and connect. The result, is a reinvented space, defined by natural metals, wood and leather. Layers of texture, art and light. A cozy world away from the bustle of life outside.
The interior was designed to support, a family owned and operated business, 131 Main. 131 recently celebrated 20 years of service. Two decades of training teams to provide quality service. Their unique approach creates opportunities for guests to experience care at every turn. Two decades of fresh ingredients, each meal made from scratch and prepared by a talented culinary team. But this isn't only a family business to the Douglas family. It has become a family business to those who have been a part of it's success.
